Over my 35-year career, I’ve been involved in almost a dozen start-ups, living through the highs and lows, from multi-million dollar successes to total train wrecks.
A while back, I met with a mentor of mine and shared the frustrations I had been having since taking over as the CEO of a struggling construction company. The business had made considerable progress during the first few years but continued to suffer setbacks.
After listening patiently, my mentor gave me some tough love: he pointed out that while I had considerable experience starting and growing companies, I lacked a simple and repeatable system for managing the businesses. And I had to admit he was right. He then told me about the system he used, and with nothing to lose, I decided to try it.
We implemented the system piece by piece, and it wasn’t long until we started gaining traction. Every key area of the business started improving. Within two years, revenue doubled, we became profitable, the toxic and underperforming employees were eliminated, and managing the company became easier.
Since selling that business, my passion for growing companies and helping others succeed, combined with this proven system, made my next move easy: I’m now a Professional EOS Implementer, helping my clients get more of what they want from their businesses and their lives.
